When we first started homeschooling, I was under the assumption that homeschooling was doing school (like the public schools) at home. I have come to realize that homeschooling is more like home learning, and doesn't have to be like the public schools.

The first things that we bought was the Alpha Omega life pacs. It went good for the first couple of months, but my son quickly grew bored with them.

I liked the fact that all of the life pacs where easy to use, and everything was laid out for you. But that was the extent of it.

The lessons are pretty dry, and my son became bored. It was the same thing every day.

If you like a text book approach, then I recommend the life pacs. If you are more of a relaxed homeschooler, these aren't the books for you.
