HOAC Colonial America Lapbook

by Carie
(Wheeler, IL USA)

Product: Hands of a Child Colonial America Lapbook
Subject: Unit Study/History
Dates Used: finished mid September 2008

Likes: We really enjoyed this unit. My boys love doing the lapbooks. HOAC turns an inactive subject into an active one. My favorite part was the Apprentice Journal. Both of my boys took great pains to make the journal realistic. I was impressed with their writing and thrilled that I didn't have to "pull teeth" to get it!

Dislikes: I do all of the cutting and assembling of the mini-books. It is very time consuming if we wait and do them during the actual lesson so I just do it before (or while they are working on the books - I just stay ahead of them!). If we had 48 hours in our day then I would let them do the cutting....they really enjoy it!
