Analytical Grammar is a program for grades six and up (A junior program, for grades 4-6, is also available).
This program teaches grammar, punctuation, and usage and is designed to be taught over three years, but can be adapted for teaching over one or two years as well.
The program was designed to teach grammar in a sequential, logical manner so students retain information without excessive repetition and drill. Parents teach the first 10, week-long units. Then, students complete one reinforcement and review exercise independently once a month for the remainder of the year.
Analytical grammar covers parts of speech and parts of sentences, diagramming, punctuation, capitalization, phrases, clauses, and usage errors. The text also includes student notes, answer key, practice exercises, grammar notebook, and a review and reinforcement workbook.
