Answers in Genesis Curriculum Review

Answers in Genesis currently offers several young-earth creation science programs that have a strong biblical worldview.

God's Design for Science Curriculum for grades 1-8 includes God's Design for Chemistry and Ecology, God's Design for the Physical World, God's Design for Heaven and Earth, and God's Design for Life.

Each program consists of three soft cover student texts, a teacher supplement, and a CD-Rom. Each of these four programs can be purchased separately or as one complete set consisting of all sixteen full-color texts and four CD-ROMS.

Lessons in the God's Design for Science curriculum take a hands-on approach and use household items for experiments and activities. In Chemistry, students study matter and the environments that make up the world. They will also learn about the scientific method, the periodic table, the properties of ecosystems, and other Chemistry topics. Chemistry and Ecology is recommended for grades 3-8.

In God's Design for the Physical World students learn about electricity, magnetism, light, machines and technology. As with the other courses, this program emphasizes hands-on experiments and activities and is recommended for grades 3-8.

God's Design for Heaven and Earth is recommended for grades 1-8 and covers Earth, the solar system, and the universe.

God's Design for Life, also recommended for grades 1-8 explores plants, animals, and the human body.

Answers in Genesis also offers several other science programs geared towards students in high school. Body by Design, which covers basic anatomy and physiology from a young-earth creation standpoint, is recommended for ages fifteen and up.

Building Blocks in Science, for ages 12 and up explores fossils, errors of evolution, evidence of creation, dinosaurs and "races."

The Exploring the World series has six texts covering Earth, the history of medicine, Chemistry, The World Around You, mathematics, and physics. Each book allows students to explore various peoples and places, the history of the various subjects, and biographies of important figures. It also teaches definitions of terms.

The Human Body: Intelligent by Design, for ages fifteen and up, examines the eleven body systems; describing their patterns and discussing meanings. The text builds on several patterns, such as the relationship of structure to function, homeostasis, interdependence among body parts, and others.

For grades four and up, Answers in Genesis offers a package including The Astronomy Book, The Fossil Book, The Geology Book, The Ocean Book, and The Weather Book. All texts include a study guide.
