Calvert curriculum for grades K-8 uses a classical approach to home education. The program begins by laying a firm foundation in the 3 R's of reading, writing, and arithmetic, then adds in history, science, music, geography and the arts.
Each level of the program comes with a teacher's manual that contains step-by-step, guided lesson plans. Parents can purchase materials to use independently or enroll in Calvert School - a program that provides placement services, necessary materials, and support via education counselors and online parent communities.
Calvert Virtual Academy is specifically for 6th- 8th grade students, and is designed to use technology prepare the students for the rigors of high school. Students enrolled in the virtual academy watch pre-recorded lessons and interact with online teachers via assignments, projects and specialized clubs, such as photography, math and creative thinking.
