Shurley English Curriculum Review

Shurley English is a step-by-step grammar program for grades 1 through 7. The program is teacher-intensive, and consists of scripted, 20-45 minute, daily lessons that teach grammar, vocabulary, language and writing skills.

Shurley English is a complete language arts program that teaches concepts through the memorization of jingles that help student retention. In addition, the program teaches expository, persuasive, narrative and descriptive writing through the use of reports, creative writing, letter writing, and journal assignments.

Materials for each grade level are sold in kits that contain a teacher's manual, a student workbook and an audio CD.
