A really fun starting point

by Holly
(Perris, CA, USA)

Product: Story of the World
Subject: history
Levels Used: Ancient History
Dates Used: 2008-2009

Likes: I love the sequential way of presenting history, with many cultures represented (although to be honest, I find a timeline is needed for *me* to keep track what is happening where when). For me, the key part of the curriculum is the activity guide. We listen to the book in the car on CD, talk about it at home, get some of the recommended literature from the library, and do an activity from the activity guide. For my son's age (lower elementary), this is the perfect introduction to world history.

Dislikes: The book itself is a bit dry (but Jim Weiss' telling on CD solves that. It's covering of religion is inconsistent.
