BJU Press Review: K4, K5, 1st grade

by Victoria
(Northeast Ohio)

Product:BJU Press
Subject: All
Levels Used:K4, K5, 1st grade
Dates Used:2006-present

Likes: Excellent, very comprehensive curriculum with hands-on activities, themed units that co-ordinate across subjects, lists of suggested read-alouds from the library for each day, lots of attention to reading and writing even at early ages, very professional, full-color photographs, consistent look across subjects and levels gives my kids a sense of knowing what to expect and a familiarity that allows them to quickly settle in and learn. Because of BJU Press, people often comment on how much my children love to learn and are learning all the time, even when we are not "doing school".

Dislikes: Too much information, activities, read-alouds, etc. Not a problem as long as you realize the program is designed for you to pick and choose what works best for your family, not necessarily try to digest every single suggestion.
