Likes: The chapters alternate between grammar and composition. At the top of each lesson in the workbook there is an explanation of what that lesson is teaching. Then the child has 2 pages of problems to do. This is a Christian workbook, so many of the examples are biblical.

These also teach how to use a dictionary and a thesaurus. The pages are 3 hole punched for easier use in a binder.

Dislikes: Sometimes the 5th grade composition is confusing. My granddaughter and I are left guessing as to what she's suppose to be doing. The teacher answer booklet only gives answers.

There is some repeating from year to year. My 5th grade granddaughter has complained that she just did that section in the 4th grade book.
