Hooked on Phonics works for us,

Likes: I LOVE LOVE Hooked on Phonics (HOP). I was educated as a teacher but I felt that I didn't know how to teach my kids to read. HOP was VERY easy for me to just pick up and teach the kids. I didn't need more than 1 min to prep. Once I got the hang of the program I was able to just pick it up and go.

The kids and I both LOVE how there are individual books as they move along in the program. They are always so excited to come to a book. There are also little stories in the teaching book that they love. It really helps them to practice the words they just learned.

I love how it all comes in one box. I know "THIS" is our reading. Everything I need is in this one box and I don't need to go hunting for anything.

Dislikes: It isn't really a dislike, but I don't use the CDs. It is really self explanatory. I think I used them in the very first part of K and one time in 1st.
