Likes: I LOVE MFW! Great worldview! The phonics (K and 1) program is simple, short and fun! Doing Exploring Countries and Cultures, my children really learned geography and to have a love for other countries. Adventures was a breeze as well, we learned so much about the US. My children enjoy notebooking. I like how MFW weaves Charlotte Mason and Classical together, and combines all my children (I have 6, 3 in school) together. We've had a blast using MFW. I love the price as well! The book basket list is wonderful!

Dislikes: I found that I needed to skip a lot of things. That bothers me because I'm a box checker. LOL. But it's a perfect program overall.

Enjoying first grade with MFW!

Product: My Father's World first grade curriculum

Levels Used: first grade
Dates Used: 9/10 - present

Likes: This year is my first year of homeschool, and I've just been delighted with My Father's World. For those who need a little structure and guidance, this is perfect. The daily lessons are easy to teach. You have room to be flexible, according to what your child needs, but the lesson plans keep you on track.

Something we have really enjoyed are the "exploration days" for each week. It's a time to study a science topic and do some fun hands-on experiments. It also provides a kind of "break" from a regular school day. The best thing is that everyday, my child is learning something from the Bible. I love sharing these Bible stories and discussing lessons we can learn from them! What a blessing this curriculum has been.

Dislikes: So far, I can't think of any dislikes.

My Father's World First Grade

Product: My Father's World
Subject: all
Levels Used: First Grade
Dates Used: 2010-2011

This program is great! We used this as a follow up to MFW Kindergarten program. First grade reviewed letter sounds then jumped right into a workbook with phonics such as sh, ch, ck, long and short vowels. There is a reader the child goes through. After each story the child writes and draws a picture about the story they read. Once a week we go for a nature walk. We would talk about the weather, animals, plants or what is happening to the plants during the winter. We also made a time line. We did lots of crafts and played lots of games that are outlined in the back of the teachers books. There is also a list of books that your can get from your local library to add to what you are learning. The basic lesson planning is done for you but they left room for you to add or change your plans to what you felt your child would enjoy. My daughter has enjoyed this program very much and has gained a lot. Her reading level is far better than I expected. I will continue to use MFW through high school. It is a wonderful program.

My Father's World review

Product: My Father's World
Subject: history, science, bible, art
Levels used: Adventures and ECC
Dates used: 2005-08

Likes: We really enjoyed using Adventures in My Father's World and Exploring Countries and Cultures. We loved the activities and stories in Adventures. My kids were in first and third and it was just right for them. We had a lot of fun that year and we enjoyed learning about the names of Jesus in our Bible study time.

We did ECC when they were in second and fourth and even my preschooler joined in. We loved all the missionary stories, art projects, and foods. We had a "party" after we studied each country. We cooked some of the foods and displayed our artwork. The kids had a blast!

The Godly focus is wonderful and their guides are so easy to use. I highly recommend MFW if you enjoy literature and the Charlotte Mason approach.

Dislikes: The only thing we didn't really care for was the state sheets in Adventures.

My Father's World

(Kosciusko, MS. USA)

Product: My Father's World Exploring Countries and Cultures
Subject: Geography
Levels Used: Multi-Level (my children were 3rd and 5th)
Dates Used: Aug 08- May 09

Likes: I picked it mainly because of its strong Christian beliefs. I loved the Christian Missionary stories. I have always regretted the day I passed them along to another homeschooler because now I have been wanting to have them back. I mean, I am thankful that another family was able to gain knowledge and blessings from those stories, but I fell in love with those missionaries through those stories and have had them on my heart ever since. I will replace those books one day. :)

Dislikes: I didn't like that you had to purchase a math and language arts separately. That was a real downside.
