I love this curriculum! EVERYTHING IS PUT TOGETHER FOR YOU!! Implementation is simple and prep time is about 1 hour each week. Each unit takes about one month to complete on a four day per week schedule. This allows time for field trips, flexibility for appointments, or extra time for longer assignments.
I used this exclusively as our core curriculum and only supplemented Math. Additional resources for extension activities were readily available at my local library. All you need is the Prairie Primer book and the Little House books! I found many of the pioneer recipes available online through free recipe sites. Don't forget to search for online usergroups!
I don't have any complaints, rather a suggestion. For writing, drawing, and other assignments, you might find it helpful to come up with some kind of notebook.
When I reuse this with my younger students, I will make sure they have a three ring binder (at least 2-3")and three sets of tabbed dividers (15 total). One tab for each book (there are nine), a tab for vocab words (a PP glossary), and one each for plant and animal study. The last three could be used for additional subjects (like home ec, geography or math), an assignment calendar and schedule, free reading book log, etc.
PP is one of our favorites!

My children, my husband and myself loved this unit study!
The hardest part about it was finding a hogs bladder, lol! VERY FUN and we all learned a lot!
