Likes:
Rod and Staff is a great deal for your $.
The materials are very traditional, thorough, wholesome and Biblically based. They will provide a sound core education with Biblical values.

The teacher guides are clear and easy to use. They are quaint and pleasant. The pictures are charming.

Dislikes:
They are not very colorful.

The lessons from about 3rd grade can be too long and can be overwhelming. The grammar and math books just have a lot of work on each page. By third grade the student has to copy the problems or sentences onto their own paper and then solve them. Some students may get hung up on the writing and miss the other learning outcomes.

It is a very solid and usable curriculum and a great price but, like anything else, it may not suit every learner.
