Saxon was not right for us, but is for many

I tried to switch my older child over to Saxon after doing a very hands-on, games and colorful curriculum, as I thought she needed something more structured. Uh - that backfired big time!

Likes:

Good, clear explanations

Lots of other homeschoolers use this (so there are people to talk to about it)

Very simply laid out for student and child

Good repetition

Dislikes, for us: My child was overwhelmed by the huge text, and truly hated the very dry way things were presented.

Maybe we are just a little unstructured at heart, but this just was not our cup of tea, so to speak.
