Both of my children doubted their math ability after several years of 'textbook' math while still in school. One of my goals when I started homeschooling was to make sure they didn't continue with negative attitudes about their ability to succeed at math (or anything!).

Teaching Textbooks has been great. It is so well laid out and clear that no matter what your math background your child will be able to learn new concepts in a positive way. I cannot think of one change that I would make to this program.
