Enjoying 100 Easy Lessons!

by Angie
(Kansas)

I started Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons with my 4 year old just after he turned 4. We've been enjoying it.

I just want to comment on the people that don't like the repetition and scripting. Make it your own. Make it work for your family. After several lessons I stopped saying the scripted part unless there was something new or if what I was saying was helpful. I skim "my part" just to make sure I'm not skipping something. We only repeat the words or sounds that he doesn't get right away. My son's favorite part is the writing. It's the quickest part and he likes to surprise me with good letters.

Dislikes: Sometimes it's hard to get my son to focus on the lesson. But he's a 4 year old boy!
