Five in a Row vol. 1-3

by Angela D
(NC)

Product: Five in a Row

Subject: All

Levels Used: Volumes 1-3

Dates Used: 2005-2007

Likes: My daughter loved FIAR! I enjoyed it very much too. For a first year homeschooling mom it was easy to use. You pick what fits your child and use that for the week, and nearly all of the books were available at the library.

I would plan my week in advance, and reserve the library book I needed.

All of the subjects; science, history, geography, art, language...were all dependent on which book we read. For example, when we read Ping, we learned about China, ducks, disobedience, and we studied the medium used in the book and learned how to do it.

I couldn't have asked for a better curriculum for our first year. It took away my fear of what (and how) to plan a school year.

*We also purchased the cookbook and still enjoy it 5 years later!

Dislikes: We switched to another curriculum when I felt my daughter out grew it.
