Five In A Row

by Christa
(Bath, MI, USA)

Product: Five in a Row Vol.1-2 & Christian Character and Bible Study Supplement

Subject: Unit Studies
Levels Used: Pre-K-3
Dates Used: 2007-2008

Likes: This is an excellent curriculum to begin homeschooling. We used it when my children were 4 & 6. We homeschool year-round, so we completed Vol. 1 & 2 in one year.

The literature is thoughtfully chosen. There is a wide variety of activities, making it easy to cater to each child's particular interests and learning style. We particularly liked reading the same book once a day for a week. By the end of the week, I could leave out words that my children would say for me. They thought it was great to "help mommy read".

Dislikes: Some of the books are out of print and hard to find, (but it is fairly easy to replace them with others and come up with a FIAR-style plan yourself, once you are familiar with the curriculum. I really enjoyed doing this with my childhood favorites that weren't already part of the program!)
