In The Hands of a Child Project Packs for Lapbooking

by Melissa
(Texas)

Product: Lapbook Project Packs from In the Hands of a Child (HOAC).

Subject: History and Science, various unit studies

Levels Used: 1st - 8th. Each Project Pack covers a range of grade levels (like 3rd - 8th) and can be easily geared up or down by several levels. My son is in 6th grade, but we have used units geared for younger children because he wanted to study it.

We have been using HOAC Project Packs exclusively for History and Science for the past two years. We love the flexibility and hands on learning they provide. My son really likes being able to show his work to anyone who will listen. I love that I don't have to spend hours searching for the information I think is important for him to learn.

The easy to follow instructions are a huge help to anyone just beginning in lapbooking and, after a few completed units, my son learned to follow the directions on his own, making for more self-directed learning.

It's also easy to add "rabbit trails" that spark the child's interest, either by using another Project Pack (like adding Thomas Edison during a study of Great Inventors) or by researching it on the web or in books.

The ladies at HOAC provide the best customer service I've ever seen.

The Super Membership (SM) with In the Hands of a Child is a wonderful addition. With a SM you get a free Project Pack each month in addition to the free quarterly freebie available to everyone and you get 15% off all Project Packs.

The cost for Project Packs is minimal, but you will spend a little on paper and ink. I spend time before we start a unit by cutting everything out, which makes the actual learning process more about the learning and less about prep time for my son.
