In the Hands of a Child Curriculum Review
In the Hands of a Child was founded in 2002 as the first company to supply readymade lapbook kits. Today, they offer hundreds of Lapbook Project Packs in dozens of subjects including history, geography, art, economics, science, Bible, literature, and language arts.
A lapbook combines scrapbooking and notebooking techniques by using a file folder and mini books to organize information about a subject into a lasting keepsake. Lapbooks can be used to introduce, reinforce, or review any subject, and are particularly appealing to children that are kinesthetic or visual learners.
In the Hands of a Child Project Packs include templates, instructions, factual information on the subject, suggested questions and answers, and lists of recommended resources. All parents need to add is a file folder, colored paper or cardstock, scissors, glue, brads and pencils, pens or markers.
Project Packs are available in the form of e-books, CD’s or traditional printed material. Kit Packs that contain all the paper components and fasteners are available to simplify the prep work.
