Learning Language Arts through Literature
First and Second grades
2008-2010

Likes: I enjoyed the fact that it was literature-based. That was the main reason I picked it. It used the literature text throughout the lesson and asked lots of prompting questions to get the child to really THINK about it. It had a lot of cutting and pasting activities, and other activities to do on a separate paper. My son normally liked those.

Dislikes: My son is very advanced in reading and overall language skills. While the grammar was right on his level, that was the only thing on his level. It moved way too slowly for him. It didn't take a lot of teacher time, but it did take enough that he couldn't go at his own (much faster) pace. He got pretty bored with it, as it just wasn't challenging him.
