Mystery of History Curriculum Review

We just started using Mystery of History this year. We have only been using it for the past 4 weeks. Already, my boys (ages 10 and 12) are really enjoying it. They love the timeline and the activities. I usually read the lesson to them while they listen and take notes on their notebook pages. We then get to an activity - like building a ziggeraut out of legos or creating their own Stonehenge out of rocks or Grahm crackers.

We only do History and Geography three days a week and this works perfectly with Mystery of History. We also read books suggested in the curriculum for our Literature units. We are currently reading "The Cat of Bubastes" as we study Ancient Egypt.

The only challenge I had was trying to figure out exactly how to do the timeline. I have found that most people who use Mystery of History each have their own unique way of completing the timeline. There is no right or wrong way. I am just a visual learner - so I would have liked to see more pictures of a completed timeline - up close. Overall, our move to Mystery of History has been a big success in our family.
