Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons

by Carletta
(McKinney, Texas)

Product: Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons
Subject: Phonics
Dates Used: 2005-2006

Likes: I briefly used Teach your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons with my oldest son when he was 4. I like that the program can be used without flashcards and worksheets. You can teach writing along with the program, but we chose not to.

The instructions were very simple, and the book told me exactly what to say to teach my child.

Dislikes: This book uses the DISTAR method of instruction and contains some non traditional lettering. Although many homeschoolers love this program, I ultimately used a workbook program to teach my son to read.

I don't believe my son was ready to read at the time we used this program.
