TRISMS is a classical curriculum for grades middle school through high school. The program teaches students to think by asking questions, finding answers and communicating what they've learned orally and in writing; thereby, preparing them for college. It places emphasis on history, literature and the humanities.
Parents will need to add a math program of choice in order to complete the curriculum. The program also suggests and schedules assignments from the IEW Teaching Writing Structure and Style program, though the program can be used without it.
The curriculum consists of five volumes. (1) History Makers which covers the time period of 3500 BC to Present for grades 5-8, (2) Discovering the Ancient World covers 3500 BC to 500 BC for 8th grade thru high school, (3) Expansion of Civilization covers 500 BC to the Middle Ages for high school students, (4) Rise of Nations covers the Renaissance to the 1860's for high school students, and (5) Age of Revolution covers 1850 AD to 2005 for high school students, while also covering US and World history.
