Wordsmith is a creative writing program for grades 7-9.

Part 1 of the program contains word games and exercises to better familiarize students with parts of speech. Part 2 of the book contains exercises to help students draft effective sentences.

Part 3 explores the use of sensory words, similie, metaphor and personification. It then uses the acronym TOWER to explain the writing process:

I reviewed a copy of Wordsmith at our local library. This program contains clear and concise explanations, along with simple learning exercises.

The instructions are written to the student in a friendly, engaging manner that keeps the program from overwhelming reluctant writers.
