Likes: There were plenty of genres covered and my son was able to learn a lot. He said he really liked it. The book is not full of pictures or fluff. Information is given with examples, then the assignment is clearly explained. I found that my son easily completed this program on his own. He was challenged to write for different reasons from business letters to all manner of writing. That took him out of his comfort zone from time to time and it was good for him.

We used it as a short stand-alone writing program. It would have been good in conjunction with a year-long literature program, though.

Dislikes: I only wondered if it wasn't a little too simplified. However, I tend to be very hard on my kids when it comes to writing. My expectations are likely too high.
