Right Start Mathematics bases it's elementary and intermediate math curriculum on the AL Abacus, an abacus that groups by fives and tens for quick recognition and teaches place value to the thousands, in order to provide students with a multi-sensory learning experience and help them learn visual math strategies. Math card games are used to provide fact practice.
The program consists of Levels A-F, covering approximately grades 1-6, Transition lessons for those just coming into the program, A Hands-On Geometric Approach program, math card games, clock games, and various manipulatives.
Right Start is a teacher-intensive program and has day-by-day guidance of the teacher in it's teacher guides. The lesson manual, student workbook, math games, and manipulatives are necessary for each level of this program.
