Tapestry of Grace is a classical, Christian unit study that teaches history chronologically in a four-year cycle.
Each of the four TOG volumes are divided into the three stages of the Trivium or three stages of learning: Grammar (Lower and Upper), Dialectic and Rhetoric. Weekly lesson plans are included for each stage, as well as book suggestions, activities, and writing assignments.
At the end of the four-year cycle, children simply start over with the first volume of TOG, each time developing a deeper understanding of the material presented. Parents who begin using the program for Kindergarten, could cycle through each volume three times; thus, making this an extremely cost effective and thorough curriculum.
Tapestry of Grace is designed so that one program can be used with children of multiple ages. It covers history, writing, geography, literature, church history, government, philosophy and the arts. Parents only have to add science, math and desired electives to make this a complete curriculum.
Each volume of TOG takes 36 weeks to complete. Year 1 covers the Ancient World, Year 2 covers the Medieval World through the American Revolution, Year 3 covers the 1800’s, and Year 4 begins in 1900 and ends with current events.
